This series consists of two recordings containing speeches and/or historical events constituting a chronicle of the years following the close of World War II, 1945-1949, told in the authentic sounds and voices of the men who made this history, all narrated by Edward R. Murrow and broadcast on his show "I Can Hear It Now." Some of the featured speakers include Neville Chamberlain at Munich, Adolf Hitler at the Sportspalast, Franklin Roosevelt reporting on the Yalta Conference, Harry Truman addressing Congress for the first time, and Winston Churchill speaking at Fulton, Missouri.

Edward Roscoe Murrow (April 25, 1908 – April 27, 1965), born Egbert Roscoe Murrow, was an American broadcast journalist and war correspondent. He first gained prominence during World War II with a series of live radio broadcasts from Europe for the news division of CBS. During the war he recruited and worked closely with a team of war correspondents who came to be known as the Murrow Boys.
